They include mines, sugar mills and coffee plantations, forms of land use that relied heavily on enslaved workers. Also, it holds more symbolic sites such as the Monument to the Cimarrón in El Cobre and the Church of Nuestra Señora de Regla where Catholic and African elements are mixed.
